The Railway Station, Corfe Castle

This shows the Railway Station at Corfe (Part of the Swanage Branch) in busy times. The line suffered the fate of many and was closed in 1972, allegedly through lack of use, although the timetables had by then been arranged such that the branch missed the connection to the Waterloo trains!

Fortunately for all, the line and station have now been restored by the Swanage Railway and the station is once again busy with all types of train.
